Format of an Employee Leave Application Letter

If it is an e-mail, then the format remains as the text boxes that the e-mail interface provides. For example:

To: (recipient's address)

CC: (your reporting head's or human resources personnel's e-mail addresses)

Subject: Leave application for ____ days for ____.

In this section, you may or may not mention the reason of the leave in the subject line itself. For instance, if it is for personal reasons, it is better not to write it in the subject line. In case it is for some examination, then you may.

Body of the E-Mail: Start with the addressee's name, designation, department, etc. In the first line, i.e. the introduction of the e-mail,  to apply for leaves. Then follows the date and number of working days.
In the second paragraph, one can cite the reason for applying for leaves. Then request them to accept and approve the leave. End the letter by thanking the recipient and saying that you will await the reply.
Signature: Your name, designation, employee id, department

Inquiray Letter

 What  is Inquiry Letter?

A well-written letter of inquiry can be crucial to securing funding for your project. Many foundations now prefer that funding requests be submitted first in letter format instead of a full proposal. Others are using preliminary letters of inquiry to determine if they have an interest in a project before accepting a full proposal.

Dear Mr./Ms./Dr. LastName:
Opening paragraph: State what position you are inquiring about; how you learned of the organization or position, and when you will be qualified for the position.
2nd paragraph: Tell why you are interested in the position or type of work the employer does (Simply stating that you are interested does not tell why, and can sound like a form letter). Demonstrate that you know enough about the position by relating your background to the employer or position and mention specific qualifications which make you a good fit for the employer's needs. This is an opportunity to explain in more detail relevant items in your resume. Refer to the fact that your resume is enclosed. Mention other enclosures if such are required to apply for a position.
3rd paragraph: Indicate that you would like the opportunity to talk with the employer to learn more about their opportunities or hiring plans. Restate briefly why you're so passionate about the opportunity you're applying for. State that you would be glad to provide the employer with any additional information needed. Thank the employer for her/his consideration.

Sample Letters of Inquiry
Samples of actual letters of inquiry are usually hard to find because the donor and applicant may be very protective of these documents. Also, they usually are very specific to the project, organization, and funder.
However, our Sample Documents section is a searchable collection of proposals, cover letters, letters of inquiry, and proposal budgets that were actually funded. Each proposal includes a critique by the decision-maker who awarded the grant.

Letter writing for mobile phone complaint

Letter writing for mobile phone complaint

Here are simple tips, templates and examples for writing good complaints letters. This approach to complaints letter-writing is effective for private consumers and for business-to-business customers
Effective complaints letters (and any other way of complaining) should be:
    • concise
    • authoritative
    • factual
    • constructive
    • friendly

    • Concise letters can be understood quickly.
    • Authoritative letters - letters that are well written and professionally presented - have more credibility and are taken more seriously.
    • Factual letters enable the reader to see immediately the relevant details, dates, requirements, etc., and to justify action to resolve the complaint.
    • Constructive letters - with positive statements, suggesting positive actions - encourage action and quicker decisions.
    • Friendly letters - with a considerate, cooperative and complimentary tone - are prioritised because the reader responds positively to the writer and wants to help.
    Example
    • Dear Sirs,
I am writing to you to complain about the mobile I bought from your online store on 23rd November. I have been a loyal customer of yours for the last 4 years and have successfully made many purchases over the years. Unfortunately, however, this time I am dissatisfied with the service you have provided.
The mobile telephone I ordered was the latest smart phone, the Samsung Android SA23. My reasons for choosing this model was that you advertised it on your website as having the new Swype texting system and complete social network support. Unfortunately, neither of these functions works properly. When I try to write a text message, the system either crashes or switches into Chinese and does not recognise the words. Likewise, the telephone does not have the advertised complete social network support, as I am unable to upload photographs to Twitter and Facebook.
For these reasons, I would ask you either to refund the purchase price in full or send me a replacement handset. I look forward to your immediate response.
      Yours faithfully

I'm afraid that the enclosed (xyz) product doesn't work. It is the third one I've had to return this month (see attached correspondence).
I bought it from ABC stores at Newtown, Big County on (date).
I was careful to follow the instructions for use, honestly.
Other than the three I've had to return recently, I've always found your products to be excellent.
I'd be grateful if you could send a replacement and refund my postage (state amount).
      I really appreciate your help.

How to Write an Appeal Letter

How to Write an Appeal Letter?

    Appeal Letter Writing
An appeal letter allows you to state your side of the story using facts to support your cause The first paragraph should introduce yourself and explain why you are writing the letter. Although it may be difficult, be sure to keep your tone and emotions in check to show that you can present an objective viewpoint. Keep the first paragraph as concise and clear as possible so that the reader can immediately understand its urgency.
Whether it is a denial of your unemployment, suspension from college, or a decision of the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”), housing board, or neighborhood association, many of us will have a time when we need a second chance. When these situations present themselves, an appeal letter might get you that second chance, so be sure to make the most of it. To write a professional, effective letter of appeal, follow these step-by-step instructions.
The next paragraph(s) should narrate the account of what happened, and why your appeal should be granted. Include all the necessary facts in order to legitimize your case. You can start by referring to your handbook or guidelines as member of that particular group or institution. Also, provide specific times and date when particular events occurred. To make your letter more reader-friendly, use bullet-points every time you need to enumerate. After doing this, refer to testimonials from people related to your work, transcript of records, and medical certificate, if necessary.
The last part should summarize everything you have stated above. Repeat the necessary points that need to be elucidated. Also include the contact details and where you can be reached. Close out the letter by thanking the reader for their time.
    Mr. Joe Howard
    Admissions Counselor
    Breamer University
    Studytown, USA

    Dear Mr. Howard:
I fully understand your reasons for my rejection from admission to Breamer University. At the time of my application, my SAT scores were too low and did not show my strengths as a student. I would like to ask you to reconsider my admission.
I have taken the SAT testing again and my scores have improved immensely. My reading scores improved by 100 points and math scores are up to 675. I have included copies of my new test results in an enclosure.
I understand that Breamer does not usually accept appeals, but I am asking for you to reconsider my application based on the new and improved scores. My grades in high school have also improved to a 4.0 and I am enclosing my latest report card.
Thank you kindly for taking the time to read my letter and I hope you can reopen my application and give me a second chance. This is still my first choice in colleges.
    Respectfully,
    Karen Johnson
